EXPO 2015: The Chinese Pavilion

The Chinese Pavilion at Expo2015 is a commitment of China to respect the environment in the field of agricultural production. Here are all the surprises in this show!

1) Presentation of the Chinese Pavilion

Presentation

The theme of the Chinese pavilion is « Land of hope, food for life. » The theme of this issue is the desire for balance between man and environment: as the farmer takes care of the earth, than all of us must do the same. China, second largest world economy, has chosen a theme that gives hope for a better future.

The pavilion demonstrates the Chinese cultural tradition and the progresses made in agriculture, but also a rational use of resources in order to ensure everyone sufficient, good quality and healthy food.

Three topics are presented:

    • « The gift of nature« : illustration of the agricultural harvest according to the Chinese calendar;
    • « Food for life »: the path of food production (eg tofu), the culture of tea or even the presentation of famous schools of Chinese cuisine.
    • « Technology and Future »: the latest results of scientific progress as the hybrid rice, the techniques of product traceability, recycling in agriculture etc ..

On LCD screens visitors will be virtually  allowed to explore the pavilion.

Among the materials used for construction there are rice and bamboo. The roof is made of bamboo, and it allows light to filter in a natural way and to reduce energy consumption.

The goals

The Chinese Pavilion will acquaint visitors with the agricultural policy of China, its history and innovations for the future.

The different spaces

The different areas of the exposure are titled: « Heaven, » « Earth, » « Man » and « Harmony. »
Agriculture, food, environment, nature and sustainable development are the main themes of Chinese participation in Expo2015.

The tour begins in the « Heaven » area (presentation of the Chinese calendar and its influence on agriculture of the country), then it moves to the area « Man » (a journey through China and sixteen typical elements of its tradition), then to the area « Earth » (Chinese landscapes), and finally to the zone « Harmony » (the heart of the Chinese pavilion, this area will send a message of balance between man and nature).
