What are parquet effect tiles?

The wood effect tiles designed by Novoceram can be laid anywhere, both indoors and outdoors, without risking being damaged, thanks to its many technical qualities. Novoceram resorts to advanced technologies to create these wooden tiles that perfectly replicate the aesthetic aspect and special details that characterise wood. Thus, visually, there is no visible difference between natural wood and parquet effect tiles, as these reproduce all the effects of wood down to its smallest detail, such as its species, grains and knots. Some Novoceram collections of ceramic parquet tiles have more than 60 different planks in order to respect the natural variations and imperfections of wood and therefore offer you complete control over the aesthetics of your wood style tiles. The aesthetic reproduction of wood is now so realistic and faithful that you will have the impression of walking on natural parquet!

Parquet tiles : where can they be used?

Natural parquet is a much appreciated material, but generally, its characteristics do not allow it to be laid in every space. It is actually not recommended to use it in wet areas due to its low resistance to humidity. Rooms such as bathrooms, kitchens or even swimming pools are often deprived of a warm and natural covering such as wood. However, wood effect tiles have a water absorption rate close to zero, and are therefore perfectly suited to areas with higher humidity.

In addition, wood has several drawbacks when laid outdoors and requires, in that case, special and rather tedious maintenance in order to protect it from frost, bad weather or sunlight. However, Novoceram has widened the Outdoor Plus range by including wooden effect tiles with a 20mm thickness, which is preferably intended for outdoor use and is even suitable for laying methods without glue to prevent tiles from deteriorating if it is cold or rainy. The parquet effect tiles available in the Outdoor Plus range can therefore be laid using other techniques such as laying on grass, on gravel or a raised installation. These solutions leave space to install irrigation systems or pipes below the ground.

You can therefore give a warm and natural look to all your rooms and outdoor spaces and even ensure aesthetic continuity between them, as the collections are available for both indoor and outdoor use.

The possibilities are therefore endless: all spaces can have ceramic wood tiles and can incorporate these as a natural touch into your decoration. Outdoors, on your terrace, in your garden or swimming pool, or also indoors, in your living room or bathroom, it’s up to you to choose the most suitable wood look tiles for every room in the house!

Types of ceramic parquet tiles

Novoceram has carefully studied many types of wood in order to perfect their aesthetic reproduction on ceramic tiles and offers rarer species of natural wood that would sometimes be impossible to use as floor or wall coverings. When choosing, this considerably expands the aesthetic possibilities of parquet effect tiles.

Ceramic wood tiles accurately replicate the visual appearance of natural wood, such as its grains and warm colours, but also its details to the touch. Wooden effect tiles reproduce in an extremely accurate and precise way the different types of wood, from the most classic ones such as antique or natural parquet, to the most contemporary ones such as grey wood.

For example, Novoceram has decided to give a very realistic interpretation of European oak or walnut trees, the latter being considered as one of the most precious woods in the world. There are also other typologies with more particular aesthetic aspects, such as grey wood, which witnesses the passing of time and shows a more antique effect, or burnt wood, with a very intense black colour. All of them embody sophistication in its purest form and create a unique aesthetic universe thanks to the perfect reproduction of parquet effect tiles.

Decorating with wood look tiles : effects and colours

Wood effect tiles can be perfectly combined with all types of decoration. It brings a touch of nature to your space and can even become the flagship element of your decoration, whether it is Scandinavian, minimalist, contemporary or more traditional. Depending on the aesthetic effect you choose, ceramic parquet tiles can soften the atmosphere, but can also give a lot of character to your space, while making it extremely warm and friendly. Wood is a material that can be combined with many others such as metal or stone, for example. The latter can create surprising associations with wood effect ceramic tiles, which can be laid not only on floors but also on walls, and the result gives a contemporary and design look to your space.

The numerous shades of parquet tiles also lead to the creation of pleasant colour combinations, and the colour of wooden effect tiles that you choose establishes the style of your space. Technological advances now make it possible to produce wood style tiles with more original colours like grey, which is often more difficult to find in natural wood.

Thus, grey wood effect tiles lighten and refresh your room where an atmosphere of rest and comfort reigns. On the other hand, for a more authentic look with more character, dark colours or antique aspects are to be preferred. Your space will be even more unique and these wood look tiles are true witnesses of the passing of time. If you prefer a more elegant and chic style, you can choose black wood effect tiles of a very intense black colour to highlight the rest of the room and create contrasts with the colour of your walls and the elements in your decoration.

Finally, bleached or warmer colours such as taupe or honey bring softness and warmth to your room and beige wooden tiles are perfectly suited to a Scandinavian and minimalist style in which wood is an integral part. In this way, any combination is possible!
