Amongst the busy aisles of Cersaie, the International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings, which will be held from September 25 to 29, 2017 in Bologna, an unexpected space stands out by virtue of its essential and dynamic style: welcome to Novoceram’s Origami stand.
Inspired by the Japanese art of folding paper, the new Novoceram setting, designed by Francesco Catalano, is enclosed within a sensual and ethereal structure, which is closely bound to origami symbolism. Like a bridge joining tradition to modernity, the philosophy captured by the works, which extend towards the future, recalls the creative evolution of Novoceram. In the same manner as ceramic crafts, origami transforms a raw material into a sculptural and poetic object, thanks to the patience, accuracy and ability of the person working on that material.
Behind the apparent simplicity of the outer shape of the stand, one will find an intimate and welcoming atmosphere that brings Japanese culture to mind. Origami is above all an occasion to present the new 2018 collections of Novoceram. Fast, concrete effect ceramics with a unique and contemporary spirit, Tango on which light reveals a pattern of marks and scratches, Otto minimalist style ceramics for outdoor use characterised by great elegance, as well as the version for interiors, Tablon, wood effect ceramics made more charming by the marks of time.
