Mix & match in interior decoration 5/5: fabrics

Last episode of our little excursion through the possibilities offered by mix & match: these are the fabrics.

To make chairs and armchairs mix & match even more comfortable, here are several assorted pillows for a total look (as seen on the stand Deco Chez moi in last exhibition Maison & Objet):

And to avoid getting tired too quickly, here is a more delicate version. A velvet corner sofa in which each seat has a different color, always in pastel tone, of Versmissen. saw during my last visit to Maison & Objet.

To rest with style, here is a parure bed that combines the same pattern but declined in various colors, this discovered on Maison & Objet show on the stand of SCP London.

Patchwork has long been in existence, but in this new version it is suitable for indoor environments that are not necessarily opposed or too informal. When Roche Bobois wanted to modernize an icon of his collection, a sofa designed by Hans Hopfer in 1970, it addressed Missoni fashion designer who has built his stylistic mark on the mixtures of different graphic patterns. The Mah Jong sofa therefore proposes in each of its modules motifs and colors are harmonious with each other, as you can see in the picture below.

Even the French fashion designer Jean-Paul Gaultier offered his version, always on the trail of patchwork, but with more neutral nuances.

And if you can not immediately change your sofa, treat yourself to patchwork cushions! The Italian designer Paola Navone has created for Kasthall these woollen black and white pillows made up of several patterns .

But the mix of fabrics and patterns is not only a way to dress up sofas in an original fashion. The taste of mixing fabrics can also be applied to accessories. An example of this trend is the brand Squint Limited for mirrors that you can find in the picture below.

A veritable patchwork: each piece of cotton fabric that covers the mirror frame is different from the others.

Since our little trip around the patchwork began with fashion, we close the circle with the creations of fashion designer Mary Katrantzou who loves mixing not only graphics but also different types of fabric. The photos of her creations were published on the famous magazines Vogue U.S. in August 2011, Elle and other magazines all around the world. Her clothes are the garment that the most aggressive fashion victims choose to wear especially during Fashion Weeks to be sure they do not go unnoticed!
